OneWorld for San Mateo County

Recyclicious

This music video brings a new topic to light for urban youth using the genre of Rap for a message that aims to stop used car oil dumping in city drains, which pollutes the Bay Area's waters.

The San Mateo County Environmental Health Division Used Oil Program wished to raise awareness of high school students taking drivers education classes through new Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in English and Spanish. OneWorld created an approach designed to reach young men and car aficionados who are most likely to change their own motor oil. We wrote, scored and shot a hip-hop music video and TV spots “Recyclicious,” that informed as it entertained, in two cultural versions for Latinos and the general market.

We produced four versions: two 5-minute videos in English and Spanish, and two 30-second versions in English and Spanish.
